Who we are

pcc in canada

Relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, we proclaim the love and good news of Jesus Christ through our words and actions. As a reformed church, we rely on the truth and inspiration of Scriptures for God’s guidance into the future – a future that we approach with wonder and anticipation, knowing God is with us. As worshiping communities joyfully celebrating the sacraments, we are supported, strengthened and equipped to share the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ.

What is our vision?

Our vision is that we would be one in Christ, reaching out to many.

How then shall we live as followers of Jesus?

We are called as a community to live in the love of God. We know that love through the beauty of the creation, the words of the Bible, the power of the Holy Spirit, and through our brothers and sisters around us in the church. When we love one another as God loved us, others around us will see Jesus in us.

How shall we serve as followers of Jesus?

We are called as a community to serve God. Through our contributions for the poor, our gifts for the wider church, and all our various areas of outreach, we seek to answer Jesus’ call to care, to love our neighbours as we love ourselves. When we help others, we are serving Christ.

How shall we worship as followers of Jesus?

We are called as a community to worship God. We celebrate all of those who participate in our ministry of worship: musicians, readers, singers, greeters, cleaners, preachers, story-tellers, banner-makers, and all who sing, pray and worship God in this place. Every face, every voice, every person is important.

How shall we grow as followers of Jesus?

We are called as a community to learn. In Sunday school, worship, Bible Studies, and other settings, we read the Bible, share our stories, and learn from one another how to be God’s people. Every one of us, young and old, has things to learn and things to teach.

Loving God, you call us to be your people. Today we dedicate ourselves to living as your people in this place. Guide us by your Holy Spirit to live as followers of Jesus each and every day, so that we may discover, celebrate and share your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
